When a cheerleading squad is called upon to save the parallel universe of Lej, they must summon their collective team spirit to destroy the evil spirit stick, save the world, and be back in time for the state championship. Presented as part Saturday morning cartoon, part pop-up book, Jill Oliver’s debut play asks the question, “Ummm…there’s an evil stick in this play?”

★★★½ Marvelously executed... Spenser Davis’ crisp direction hits all the set-ups and punchlines at a breathless pace and with infallible timing. His cascade of tableaus evokes all the graphic punchiness we expect from cartoons and comic books. Not a single extraneous movement undermines his tightly woven tapestry of Gen Y iconography.
— Evan Hill, Chicago Stage Standard
Director Spenser Davis keeps everything moving at a breakneck pace... packing in great gobs of intentionally amateurish theatricality... the evening’s furious precision is a technical feat.
— Justin Hayford, Chicago Reader

One of the Top Plays in Chicago RIGHT NOW... a raunchy comedy sci-fi fantasy extravaganza... what truly makes or breaks a play like this is commitment to the vibrant characters and melodramatic script, and this cast delivers.
— Nate Hall, Picture This Post
★★★½ Delightfully hysterical... fast-paced comedy [that] gives its audience 65 minutes of laughter.”
— Karen Topham, Chicago Onstage
